by Kyler Baumoel

Art is Grundfeste (Foundation) (1922) Paul Klee (German, 1879 - 1940), and is in the public domain. https://artvee.com/dl/grundfeste-foundation/

A civilization promises peace The Foundation plots their destruction On a rainbow bridge

The Foundation marches onwards

A man who misses his father Finally meets his end Another man sheds no tear

The Foundation marches onwards

Edison went Not in a blaze of glory But in a bed, alone

The Foundation marches onwards

A photosynthetic woman Tries to help The flower dies

The Foundation marches onwards

A woman sacrifices Her only child, crying As he screams

The Foundation marches onwards

A man made of Glass Is pushed too far And breaks

The Foundation marches onwards

The King of apples Refuses the throne And is consumed by his fate

The Foundation marches onwards

A man of little talent Meets a Scream of anguish And stops functioning

The Foundation marches onwards

A man of nothing Watches the universe It was enough

The Foundation marches onwards

A woman stuck in a pit Meets an uncontainable Library Her blood cakes it’s shelves

The Foundation marches onwards

A man out of Sorts Wishes to die He makes it painless

The Foundation marches onwards

An alchemist Works to his end Explaining the universe

The Foundation marches onwards

A dimensional traveler falls His corpse traveling Forever after

The Foundation marches onwards

A bug in the system Works itself out And a forgotten man, disappears

The Foundation marches onwards

A man who keeps on going A man too useful to die Outlives his usefulness

The Foundation marches onwards

A woman clinging to power Watches her son die And ends her life

The Foundation marches onwards

A Moose with magic Runs to the Library And sees it burn, laughing to the end

The Foundation marches onwards

A dog, beyond its years Ends the Bookburners With a click and a boom, barking to the end

The Foundation marches onwards

A woman who likes butterflies watches the world burn The fluttering coming to an end

The Foundation marches onwards

A mad doctor Laughs, once, at his creation As it kills him

The Foundation marches onwards

The forever agent Fires his last bullet And smiles at the end

The Foundation marches onwards

A time traveler No longer sees the future is this the end?

The Foundation marches onwards

Jesus Christ Watches the Bloom, waiting And as nothing happens, she cries happily

The Foundation marches onwards

A Clef sounds the end As a chain breaks And then the sun went out

The Foundation marches onwards

A man made of Gears Looks at the horizon A tear leaves his eye

The Foundation marches onwards

A Bright necklace watches it all It’s friends left behind As it is finally destroyed

The Foundation marches onwards

A man who dies last Finally passes away Cursing his creator to the end

The Foundation marches onwards

The Last Author Took one last look Before ending it all

The Foundation marches onwards

Irredeemable It arrives The end

The Foundation marches onwards

A Kind Man Sheds a tear For the Foundation, on its endless journey

The Foundation marches onwards

A man, ascends To the Finale Losing himself along the way

The Foundation marches onwards

And onwards

And onwards

This is a wealth of homage, love, and attention to SCP put into one place. It's a shame it couldn't find a spot on the site it celebrates.

From the author:

"This is my first Foundation-related work. It is a poem describing the possible future of the Foundation, the continuous "life" of the Foundation as it outlives everyone and everything. The stanzas are all doctors or SCPs, try to figure them out [without clicking the links]!"
